Master of Science (M.S.) - Exercise Physiology Program

Purpose of the Program

The Master of Science in Exercise Physiology program prepares students for careers in health, wellness, and fitness. Careers are often found in the performance industry, sports medicine, clinical exercise physiology, and research. Careers as teachers, professors, recreation specialists, and administration are additional opportunities that may be pursued with this degree. Graduates will be well prepared for a variety of certifications such as the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) or the American College of Sport Medicine’s ACSM-EP (Certified Exercise Physiologist) to further their vocation. The master’s degree in Exercise Science also prepares students in pursuit of higher degrees through doctoral work, such as a Ph.D. or other professional programs.
