Resources for Pregnant Students
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor continues to provide l access to its education programs to students during pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions. Any student may meet with UMHB’s Title IX Coordinator to learn how the university supports and encourages pregnant students in continuing their education. Depending on the circumstances, the university may be able to help students with excused absences, a leave of absence from school, or other reasonable alterations to academic programs in order to help students remain in school in spite of limitations which may be recommended by a health care provider.
Pregnant students who anticipate a need for assistance with their academic program are encouraged to contact the Title IX Coordinator rather than individual faculty members. The Title IX office will work with the student and with faculty as needed to develop an individualized education plan that will insure access to the university’s programs and provide pregnant students the best opportunity to complete their education. Contact: Susan Owens, Title IX Coordinator and non-discrimination compliance officer, Sanderford Administrative Complex, 900 College Street, Belton, Texas 76513, 254-295-4527, susan.owens@umhb.edu
