Students Seeking Disability Accommodations
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor does not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of disability in the recruitment and admission of students, or in the operation of any of its programs and activities. The UMHB Student Disability Services Office is available to assist students with disability-related issues including reasonable accommodation under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. It is the student’s responsibility to request disability accommodations each semester.
Students are encouraged to submit requests for accommodations in a timely manner, preferably before a class begins. A student may request an accommodation at any time, but an accommodation cannot be granted by the Disability Services Office until the request is processed and the disability is documented. Accommodations, if approved, cannot be applied retroactively.

Resources for Students During Pregnancy, Childbirth, or a Related Condition
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor continues to provide access to its education programs to students who are affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or a related condition, including lactation. Any student may meet with UMHB’s Title IX Coordinator to learn how the university supports and encourages students in continuing their education. Depending on the circumstances, the university may be able to help students with excused absences, a leave of absence from school, or other reasonable alterations to academic programs in order to help students remain in school in spite of limitations which may be recommended by a health care provider.
Students who anticipate a need for assistance with their academic program because of pregnancy, childbirth, or a related condition are encouraged to contact the Title IX Coordinator rather than individual faculty or staff members. The Title IX office will work with the student and with faculty /staff as needed to develop an individualized plan that will ensure access to the university’s programs and provide affected students the best opportunity to complete their education.
