Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Degree Academic Core
To receive a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences degree, a student must fulfill the following course requirements:
Degree Requirements
A. Core Courses - 40 hours
Christian Studies - 6 hours
English - 9 hours
Exercise & Sport Science - 2 activity courses
Students majoring in Exercise Physiology with Strength and Conditioning Education Program must take EXSS 3135.
Student must make a "C" or higher in both EXSS 3107 and EXSS 3135 or EXAC 3120.
Fine Arts - 3 hours
World Cultures - 3 hours
Laboratory Science - 4 hours
Public Speaking - 3 hours
Mathematics - 3 hours
*Health Science Majors require
MATH 1306. EC-12 Physical Education and Exercise Physiology Majors require
MATH 1304.
Social Science - 3 hours
US History or US Government - 3 hours
First Year Seminar - 1 hour
UMHB 1101: required for first-time freshmen with fewer than 12 semester hours of transfer credit only
Chapel - 1 to 4 credits
UMHB 1002: credits determined by admission classification
Fine Arts Experience - 2-8 credits
UMHB 1005: credits determined by admission classification
B. Health Science Foundation - 24 hours
