NURS 2200 Intro Professional Nursing Roles
This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the nursing profession’s historical, theoretical, ethical, and legal dimensions and introduces the concepts of nursing care of diverse populations and individuals. The role of the nurse as caregiver, advocate, educator, and leader within diverse healthcare settings will be explored. Students will have the opportunity to reflect upon professional nursing as a calling and a ministry. Students will gain insight into interprofessional collaboration, the decision-making process, and responsibilities inherent in professional nursing practice.
Prerequisite: Admission to the Nursing Program
